The Monk-Droid Café
By Goldy Fox
It’s a place of comfort. A place of modern style. A salon of connection, where pure nature and pure tech can come together for coffee or a banana in a civilized manner. What is this magical place you may ask; why it's the Monk Droid café in Los Angeles.
Do you remember when the initiative of bringing monkeys to LA was voted on by a minority of people, while the rest were too busy to notice. Well, it led to a lot of monkeys roaming about the city aimlessly. They would toss over all the trash bins and congregate behind the supermarkets to make garbage dives, which pissed off a lot of human garbage divers, because the monkeys were quite aggressive when they wanted a piece of your food.
It was then decided, yet by another minority of people who were paying attention, that these monkeys needed to download some etiquette software to make them more pleasant.
All the monkeys were then captured and a Neura link was planted in their brain, with which they were able to be gifted polite behavior software. The software made the monkeys very sad and depressed, which caught the attention of many androids. Soon android monkey friendships were a common sight on the park benches throughout the city.
Half tech Lidia Fargo decided this would be great business and social opportunity. It led her to open the Monk-Droid Café. A place where monkeys and androids can connect over tech and animal-friendly patisseries and drinks. So, next time you’re looking for an interesting high tea, I suggest you take a walk on the semi-wild side and check out this café.
