The Intergalactic

Space Chronicle

By Sam Lustig

It was a cloudy day when the first expedition of Humanoid Ai and humans set out to explore the space beyond our solar system. Just thirty years ago, when such an endeavor seemed nearly impossible, it was Aurora Bright T471, a biotech entity who identifies as human-ish, who shepherd Earthlings to take that first brave leap into the unknown.

Aurora became known as Captain Bright, the first commander and chief of the first planetary exploration beyond our known solar system. The first “Beyounders” were to travel at hyper-speed till they found an Earth-like planet they could colonize. The organic humans were to stay in a suspended sleep for intervals of five years at a time until they reached a worthy destination.

But when we lost contact with the first ship, many wondered if they were still alive or if they had gotten lost. Some let their worst fears and tech hate run wild and tried to spread the belief that the biotech personal had hijacked the spacecraft and kept the humans in a suspended sleep, so that they could ditch Earth and populate their own world with their own “kind”.

Luckily, those “nay-ers” have been proven wrong today after the first image from a new planet, which has been named “Lovely Paul” reached us. The planet was named in memory of the team’s cat who died a few days before they had discovered the new planet. Perhaps they were too influenced by their grief…but we will get used to the name "Lovely Paul" and perhaps in the future we'll discover more planets like "Lovely Toto" or "Lovely Lil Bub".

According to their reports, Lovely Paul is proving to be a beautiful lush planet with an abundance of life and no predators who are dangerous to humans so far. In the coming weeks, they will be initiating the first out of womb birth pods with the selected human DNA blend they received from the Global Council and the first natives of Lovely Paul will be born to their new planet.

Hopefully, the next update arrives in less than thirty years and the meanwhile we can all fantasize about our vacations to Lovely Paul.
