Grandpa and Grandson Return After 70-year Alien Abduction

Do remember where you were the day Grandpa Yorgen and his grandson Patrick were abducted some seventy years ago? Well, do you remember where you are now, the day when they have been returned safely to Earth?
If you weren’t born yet you, the duo was tending to their garden in the year 2100, when suddenly a massive alien aircraft beamed them up and then zipped out of our solar system with them in it.
At the time our space expansion was still in its diapers, so chasing down the culprits was not an option. Also, this Alien species clearly possessed superior technology, so such an attempt would be futile and perhaps deadly. We all had to reconcile with the fact they were. That is, until now.
Not only have the two returned completely intact, but also they have not aged one day from the day they were taken.
They have received some genetic upgrades that are still baffling our scientists. Their host's said they needed the genetic adjustments to survive in different atmospheres. Yes apparently, while we wept for them, they were having the most marvelous time, exploring the galaxy with their new alien mates. They said they have visited many other planets with various wonderful alien species, which we have yet to encounter.
But for grandpa and grandson, only a year has passed.
Luckily with all the recent developments in aging therapy and gene manipulation, grandma is a bit bionic, but still willing to make grandpa his favorite pie. Unfortunately, he might have to share that pie because grandma is now part of a throuple.
The world has changed tremendously in the last seventy years, but Patrick is young and he will adjust. His parents are in good health and they are so glad to have him back. His siblings may have their own grandchildren now, but they don’t look a day over twenty, and they are ready to hide and go seek any time of the day.
It might be odd for their grandchildren to play as equals with their great uncle Patrick, but we are all prepared for odd in 2171.
Their alien capturers have apologized to the family and all Earthlings, claiming that they were not aware of the anti-kidnapping laws of Earth. They just wanted to get to know Grandpa Yorgen and Patrick and share some gardening tips with them. And boy did they, Grandpa Yorgen and Patrick have some very elaborate plans for their new floating jungle garden.
It may seem that a lot has been lost for all, when these two were taken away so abruptly. But there is also much that they have all gained in the present. Sometimes we must embrace the twisted circumstances that come to be and open our hearts to a different version of life than the one we had previously imagined.
